The design team responsible for the redevelopment of the top of Watford town centre is asking residents what they would like to see in the new project.
The £4.3m refurbishment, which was agreed in January 2010, aims to turn the upper part of the Parade into a “key civic space” suitable for a range of outdoor events.
Public consultations on the developed design options are due to take place in the summer, but in the meantime the council is asking residents to come forward with their opinions of what the new designs should include.
Elected Mayor of Watford Dorothy Thornhill said: “Residents have been telling me they want the top of the town to be different. The perception can be that it is just about drinking. We need to reclaim it for everyone and have it as a good space that can to be used all through the day.
“When the improvements are completed, the area should also bring economic benefits to local businesses and the town centre generally.”
