Crime in Abbots Langley has decreased, village police officers have revealed.
At a meeting of Abbots Langley Parish Council last night, officers said that crime had fallen in the area when compared with figures from last year.
Anti-social behaviour is down 37 per cent from 162 offences to 101 offences; criminal damage down 14 per cent from 36 crimes to 29, and violent crime down 45 per cent from 24 offences to 13.
Officers also confirmed that burglary had dropped 18 per cent from 11 offences to nine and vehicle crime by 23 per cent.
Parish and Three Rivers District Councillor Sara Bedford, Liberal Democrat representative, said: “There has been a lot of working together between the District Community Safety Partnership, Abbots Langley Parish Council, police and the local neighbourhood watch group.
“Because of this, the village has experienced a reduction in crime and I think everyone involved should be applauded for their hard work.”
