Residents across Dacorum took a green step into the New Year by recycling their real Christmas trees.
Hundreds of people recycled 1,750 trees at the council-run tree chipping events held throughout the borough.
Those taking part were given the opportunity to take away their chippings to scatter on their garden as a natural way to help prevent weeds.
Assisting the Dacorum Borough Council team were local scouts who helped by collecting trees from residents’ homes and taking them to the shredding sites.
