WAR medals and jewellery have been stolen in burglaries at two homes in Abbots Langley.
Police revealed this week that the first break-in happened in Kindersley Way on December 23 when a number of valuable items were taken including three gold chains, including one with a Russian egg pendant, and six miniature war medals and ribbons set on a bar from the Second World War.
Two strands of silver and diamond looking ornate earrings, were also found to be missing as well as a silver and diamond like glass stones necklace, an oval cameo brooch and a jade brooch.
Officers said there was then a second burglary in Gallow Hill Lane, between Christmas Eve and Wednesday, December 28.
Another haul of jewellery was taken including two silver chains, one holding a Celtic charm and another with a silver opal pendant, plus a gold chain with seven green enamel drop pendants with matching earrings.
Also stolen in the second burglary was a gold brooch, a blue antique cameo brooch, a black cameo brooch, a silver marquisette brooch, silver drop earrings with gold and blue enamel stones and two tone green drop earrings.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the two burglaries and want to hear from anyone who may have been offered items matching the descriptions of the stolen items for sale.
