A "frustrated" driver has called for the owner of a vehicle that hit his car in Radlett to come forward after he was given the wrong details.
Martyn Dadswell, 69, and his wife Catherine, 70, enjoyed lunch at a Radlett restaurant before returning to their VW Bora and finding it damaged along the front wing.
A note had been left on the windscreen with just a registration number and the word “sorry” on it.
The car had been left in the Newberries Parade car park from about 12.15pm to 2.15pm, on December 21.
The couple, of Orchard Drive, Park Street, then checked what they believed to be the registration number with police and found the number did not exist.
He said: “I’m frustrated about the whole thing and I just want it sort it all out really.”
Mr Dadswell is now calling for the owner of the vehicle that hit his car to come forward with the correct details so he can make a claim and avoid a bill of £500 for repairs.
He said: “I understand it was an accident and I just want their name, proper registration and insurance details.
“I don’t want to cripple them financially. I don’t want much really, but I would like them to get in contact so we can make the proper claim.”
