More than 160 homes are still without electricity in the Bricket Wood area after stormy weather damaged power lines yesterday.
UK Power Networks said around 1,000 households were initially affected when power cut out at around 12.45pm.
The power company said three separate incidents of trees hitting cables contributed to the outage. However it managed to restore power to nearly 900 customers by 2pm and was working to return electricity to the rest of those affected.
Phil Spiby, a spokesman for the company, said: “We work in partnership with the Red Cross and have asked them to attend along with our customer champions this morning to provide hot drinks and support to those who need it.
“We appreciate how difficult it is to be without electricity and would like to apologise to all those affected.”
