A "manipulative and controlling" rapist was jailed for eight years yesterday for attacking two teenagers he had met on Facebook.
To protect young girls from Kirran Reid, 21, the judge at St Albans Crown Court also passed a five year extension to the jail term, which means he will be supervised by probation officers on his release.
Reid, of Dovedale Close, Harefield, was convicted of raping one 16 year old girl on January 4 last year.
While on bail for that offence, he raped a second 16 year old on May 10 and took an indecent photograph of her.
The court heard the first victim was "naive and confused".
Reid had persuaded her to take him to her home in Hemel Hempstead and, while her mother slept, he forced her to have unprotected sex.
He ignored her pleas for him to stop and she ended up with bruising.
Reid met the second girl, again through Facebook, which was a breach of his bail conditions because he had been ordered not to use social networking sites after his arrest for the first offence.
The girl went to his flat and they had consensual sex, but she became upset when he took an indecent photo of her on his phone as she slept.
He taunted his victim and then forced her to have unprotected sex with him.
Sentencing him, Judge Stephen Warner said "This was a traumatic and humiliating experience for these girls.
"You forced the victims to give evidence and re-live their experiences. You have shown no remorse.
"I am satisfied that you are a manipulative and controlling young man, who has shown you are willing to use force on young vulnerable victims you have met on the internet."
The judge also ordered Reid to sign on the Sex Offenders' Register indefinitely and he will be subjected to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order for the next 12 years, which includes a ban on him contacting his victims.
