Shoppers had to be evacuated from Asda in north Watford after a fire alarm went off last night.
Trollies were abandoned in the aisles as crews from Garston Fire Station were called to the store off St Albans Road at around 7pm.
However firefighters said it was a false alarm and people were allowed back into the store after they had established there was no fire.
Watch Commander Chris Meritt said: βIt was an issue with their alarm and nothing else.β
He added that the fire crews were at the store for around 20 minutes.
