On the 29th January, Camelot UK Lotteries Limited employee, Paul Clarke, will be taking on the ‘Tough Guy’ challenge in order to raise money for Watford Mencap’s Children’s Centre. Paul was inspired to support the Children’s Centre after taking part in the Insight Teams Christmas party last year, where members of the team came together to organise a party for thirty children, raising over £6000!

The Tough Guy challenge is no easy feat. Thought to be the original and toughest test of its kind anywhere in the world, the challenge is held annually on the last Sunday in January. It tests mental and physical strength, challenging fear of heights, tight spaces, fire, water and electricity.

The Tough Guy challenge is a 10km assault course which usually takes about three to four hours to complete. The assault course is composed of ropes swinging from trees 15 metres high, barbed wire, flames, narrow tunnels of murky water and climbing walls. It truly is a survival of the fittest.

In order to train for the challenge, Paul will undertake a challenging regime of running, swimming and going to the gym. Camelot has agreed to match fund Paul’s fundraising efforts up to £750. Please support Paul by going to his Just Giving page: www.justgiving.com/paulclarke81.
