Dacorum has been voted one of the top 50 places to live in the United Kingdom, according to a nationwide survey.
Out of more than 400 areas, the Halifax’s Quality of Life survey rated the district at number 37.
Last year, Dacorum did not make the top 50.
To determine the quality of life rating, a criterion including access to broadband, house prices, weekly earnings, health, population figures, crime rates, exam results, traffic and weather is considered.
Leader of Dacorum Borough Council, Councillor Andrew William, said he is delighted that Dacorum has been recognised in this way.
The Conservative representative said: “I’m really proud of Dacorum and it is great that we have made the top 50.
“There are always things to improve on, but if you look around you and take in everything Dacorum has to offer, it truly is a great place to live.”
