Festivities were in full swing in Abbots Langley when Evergreen Football Club hosted its annual Pensioners’ Christmas party.
More than 36 villagers, aged 65 and over, took part in proceedings at the club in South Way, on December 20.
Visitors enjoyed a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, courtesy of volunteers from the football club.
Ron Smith, club chairman, said: “We run the Christmas party every year and invite pensioners from the area.
“We start planning the event from September and are supported by a number of local businesses.
“Regulars at the club help to prepare the meal, and we like to ensure our guests enjoy themselves.
“This year we were pleased that the chairman of Three Rivers District Council, Councillor Chris Whately-Smith came to support the meal and talk to our guests.
“It was a good day and everyone enjoyed themselves.
“We are pleased to host the event each year, it is good to see our local neighbours and help them to have an enjoyable Christmas.”
