Teens and youngsters in Three Rivers will be deciding on how £1,000, which has been earmarked for good causes, is to be spent in the district.
Eleven to 19-year-olds on the district’s youth council are inviting groups and charities in the area to apply for a grant from the pot of money.
The cash is available to Three Rivers groups or charities that provide services or support aimed at young people.
Last year, the youth council decided to split the money between five different organisations including Breakspeare School, Cruse Bereavement Care Young People’s Service, South West Herts Samaritans, Rickmansworth Youth Football Club and Friends of Colnbrook School.
Councillor Ann Shaw, the young Person’s champion on Three Rivers council, said: “In the past, the Youth Council has awarded funds to sports clubs, youth groups, and young homeless groups.
“I am always impressed with their decision making.
“They take this responsibility very seriously and I would encourage more young people in the district to come along to the Youth Council meeting and play their part in making their voices heard and making a difference to their local community.”
Organisations have until Friday February 3 to make an application to the council, which will decide on the grants later that month.
Grant application forms are now available to download form from www.threerivers.gov.uk or call 01923 776611 for more information.
