A teenager has been charged with the murder of West Herts College student Catherine Wynter who was found stabbed to death the day after Boxing Day.
Tony Bushby, 18, from Digswell Close in Borehamwood, appeared at Hatfield Magistrates' Court over the New Year's weekend and was remanded in custody to appear at St Albans Crown Court on Wednesday.
Catherine was discovered by her mother at a house in Beech Drive, Borehamwood, after she had been babysitting her niece and nephew on Boxing Day.
Since then tributes have been pouring in on social network sites to the 19-year-old former Queens student, who was due to graduate from West Herts College next year.
In a statement Catherine's family described her as “a loving auntie” and “a quiet girl who enjoyed life.”
