The biggest story in December was undoubtedly the news that the long awaited Croxley Rail Link, which will bring the Metropolitan tube line to Watford Town Centre, had been given Government funding.
The £119million project, due to be finished in 2015/16, will take trains from Croxley Green, along a historic track, past two new stations in West Watford and into Watford Junction.
Also announced in December was a decision to allow exotic dancing at the Prince of Wales pub in Rickmansworth to continue, when it had its licence renewed.
Poppy Edwards, 13, was selected to play football for Hertfordshire Schools, despite having undergone several operations to fix faulty heart valves.
Tilly Bennell's parents finally had closure over their daughter's attack after David Shewry admitting assaulting the seven-year-old and was given a community sentence.
