The family of a devoted father who was gunned down in his Watford home have made a desperate plea for information about the crime.
Mohammed Yasin Khan, 55, was left with devastating injuries after the shooting in Hodges Way during the early hours of Thursday October 27. More than a month on, the father-of-four remains in hospital in critical condition.
Mr Khan is married and has three sons and a daughter. He has four brothers, is a grandfather to five children and has lived in Watford for more than 40 years after coming to the town from Pakistan as a child.
His 29-year-old daughter, whose name has been withheld for her protection, said: “We are very worried about our father as he has suffered such terrible injuries. My father is a devoted, normal, everyday family man who likes nothing more than to spend time with his grandchildren and dog.
“He loves gardening, is an active member of the local Muslim community and regularly attends Watford Mosque. In the past he has also attended mosques in Birmingham, Luton and Cardiff where he would often stay for days at a time and even weeks.”
“We are desperate for any information that could help lead the police to those responsible for attacking my father in this terrible way. He did not deserve this and we can now only pray that he pulls through.”
Police are still following a line of enquiry that this was a targeted shooting.
Since the incident a 32-year-old man, a 26-year-old men and a 27-year-old man, from Watford, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. A 34-year-old man, also from Watford, was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill. They have been bailed again and are due to return to Watford Police station in February 2012.
