The sight of toddlers waddling across a field greeted visitors at a Watford scout hut, as part of an event organised to raise cash for the Meningitis Trust.
Families flocked to the scout hut in East Drive on Thursday, for an afternoon of charity toddling and Easter hat-making.
Mother-of-one Amanda Hopes, who organised the event, explained: “I’d read stories about Meningitis, how dangerous it is, and how the trust tries to raise money and awareness.
“As a mother myself, I felt so moved by some of the stories, particularly where the children were affected.
“So I thought I would organise a charity toddle waddle. Each of the children have been sponsored to waddle across the grass behind the hut in a relay, enjoyed lunch and made Easter bonnets.
“Fewer turned up than I had expected, but it’s the first one I’ve organised, so I can’t really complain.
“It’s great to be raising money for the charity, in fact it’s inspired me to arrange another one next year.”
