Rows of multi-coloured bunting hung across St James Road, Watford, as dozens of residents celebrated the Royal wedding.
Tables were lined up in the road, which was closed to traffic, as guests enjoyed food and party games, including a competitive round of musical chairs.
Tina Duffy, who won the Best Decorated House competition, said: “St James' Road is a very friendly neighbourhood; everyone knows everyone else, all the kids play together and we all look out for each other.
“Jo Callender decided to organise the event and she really ensured we had a perfect party, all the neighbours were asked to cook an item of food, contribute £1 for each member of the house and there was a competition for the best decorated house and one for the best kids fancy dress costume.
“The rain held off and the day was fantastic. We had oriental food, Indian food and even vol-au-vents, with musical chairs for the kids and Pimms aplenty.
“One of the neighbours Denise Cox runs Tapestry Cakes and she even supplied a cup cake tree of royal cupcakes, music was supplied by another neighbour Stephen O'Donoghue and the local church opened up its church hall with live coverage of the Royal Wedding.
“The day went on until about 10pm. With the weather, the patriotism and the community spirit, we couldn’t have wished for a better day thanks to a brilliant street full of really lovely neighbours we celebrated the Royal Wedding in style.”
