A living history group brought the Roman era to life at a school in Northwood.
Students in years six and seven St Martin's School, in Moor Park Road, were given lessons in slavery, schools, weapons, food and cooking by “Legion xiiiii”.
The enactment group visited the school on April 28, bringing with them a variety of artefacts including as an abacus, hair combs, mirrors and sandals.
In the afternoon session the pupils focussed on military history, with drills in Latin, the opportunity to dress in Roman armour, and a weaponry display in the school field.
