Ladies from Women’s Institutes across the county have gathered together in Bedmond, for a special lunch celebrating the royal wedding.
Sporting a variety of glittering, handmade tiaras, members were welcomed into the village hall in Bell Lane, which had been transformed with union jack bunting for yesterday's event.
Bedmond, Abbots Langley, Kings Langley, Leverstock Green and Felden Women’s Institute members sat down to sandwiches and cream teas, while Magician Steve entertained with tricks.
Peggy Finch, president of Bedmond Women’s Institute, said: “We always host a spring luncheon, but thought what a great idea it would be to tie it in with the marriage of Catherine and Prince William.
“It’s really captured the imagination of the ladies, especially when it came to making the tiaras.
“A few have cheated and bought their own, but a good few have made them from scratch.I'm not sure many of ours will look like Catherine's, but you never know.
"Our ladies have also enjoyed a feast fit for royalty.
“It’s a wonderful occasion to celebrate, and something the country has really embraced.”
