A cigarette box containing cash was stolen when a 40-year-old man was robbed in a Watford underpass.
The victim was walking between Edward Amey Close and York Way when he was approached by two young men, at about 8.15am on Wednesday, April 27.
One of the men grabbed the cigarette box while the other threatened him. The pair then ran off towards Cow Lane.
Police described the first robber as black, in his late teens to early 20s; about 5ft 7ins to 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build and with short brown hair.
The second man is described as a black man, in his late teens to early 20s; about 5ft 10ins tall and of stocky build.
Detective Constable Jennifer Stoddart said: “Although he was shaken up as a result of this incident, the man was thankfully not injured.
“We are doing everything we can to find those responsible for this robbery and I am appealing for anyone who may have been using the underpass around the stated times and saw anything suspicious to come forward.”
She added: “I’d also be interested to hear from anyone who feels they may know the described suspects; someone out there may recognise them.”
Anyone with information should telephone DC Stoddart via the non-emergency number 0845 3300222, citing crime reference number C4/11/969.
