A new one-way road system in central Watford is a “big improvement”, a county councillor has said.
Traffic is restricted to one direction along Percy Road and Francis Road following changes to the highway installed earlier this year.
Councillor Stephen Giles-Medhurst said: “Previously these two narrow roads meant that only one car in any direction could travel down it meaning residents and visitors often had to reverse the length of the road to allow a car to pass.
“This was a safety issue. Now with Francis Road being one way from Market Street to Percy Road and Percy Road being one way to Market Street not only are the roads safer but it makes parking for residents and Holy Rood Church much easier.”
