A Watford car dealer preparing for a charity walk has received his most valuable donation – a pair of walking boots.
Phil Wight, 60, has already raised £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support by completing three Mad Hatters Walks in previous years.
So in preparation for his fourth walk, at this year’s event on June 5, he planned to treat himself to a new pair of shoes.
After hearing about his charity challenge, however, staff at Cotswold Outdoor, based in the “blue pyramid” in Watford High Street, donated a pair of boots to his cause.
