Ten tonnes of compost will be placed in a car park in Radlett next month for residents to collect for free.
Hertsmere Borough Council is giving away the decomposed plant matter, which is the product of green bin waste, on Wednesday, May 4.
From 8.45am to 2pm, residents can collect up to four bags of compost, in Newberries car park, Watling Street.
Residents are asked to bring their own bags.
