A man is fighting for his life in a London hospital after a stabbing in South Oxhey.
Police were called to an address in Otley Way shortly before 10pm last night.
They found a man, in his thirties, suffering from serious chest injuries.
He was rushed to Watford General Hospital and later transferred to London’s St Mary’s Hospital, where he remains in a “critical but stable” condition.
Officers have spent much of the day searching the area surrounding the incident.
Hertfordshire Constabulary said officers would be conducting house-to house investigations over the Easter weekend and would continue to cordon off the area.
Detective Inspector Karena Thomas, from the Major Crime Unit, said: "We know local people are anxious about what has happened and we are using considerable police resources to locate the offender.
“From the information we have gathered so far it is clear the victim and offender are known to each other.”
