Past and present members of a popular playgroup for children with disabilities, have gathered together for their largest ever Easter reunion.
On Monday, Soul Survivor Warehouse in Greycaine Road was filled with children busy making Easter treats out of chocolate and cereal, as well as cards and gifts from paper and glitter.
The event was organised for Playskill, which cares for pre-school children (aged one to five), to celebrate their fifth reunion.
Playskill leader Andrea Clarke said: “I’m absolutely stunned by how many people have turned up for the reunion, to date it has to be the biggest party we’ve ever had.
“Past members, their brothers, sisters, mums, dads, current members – everyone’s here.
“It’s very emotional, it’s wonderful to see how some of our leavers have developed, but it’s also a great opportunity for us all to catch-up.
“The kids are having a wonderful time, there is chocolate everywhere. Fortunately we’re well-practiced when it comes to clearing up, because there will be a lot to do.”
Since the group began, demand for places has soared, which according to Ms Clarke highlights the need for the provision in the area.
Although Playskill in Watford was given cash totaling £40,000 from Children in Need, they still need extra funding, approximately £50,000 to continue to run in Hemel Hempstead in the coming years.
