A popular former history teacher, whose inspirational lessons will be fondly remembered by hundreds of former pupils, has died.
Chris Bond, who taught at Westfield Community Technology College until July 2009, collapsed at home in Harrow on Friday night and died shortly afterwards.
Mr Bond, 41, was a highly skilled martial artist and held a prestigious black belt in Karate. He devoted much of his free time to teaching the sport to generations of children.
Shocked former pupils have begun to post messages of condolence on the internet. One pupil, writing via Twitter, described her former mentor as “a legend,” adding “he was one of the best teachers I’ve met.”
