Excited school children got to grips with newly refurbished playground equipment on Friday.

Pupils from Leavesden Green JMI School were given first access to the rejuvenated Woodside Playing Fields by Watford Borough Council.

During an extensive regeneration project, local children were asked to create a “wish list” of equipment for their new park – a list that was then acted upon by the council.

Development officer Ian Mather said: “It is designed to offer something exciting and fun for children from the age of two through to 14, from small toddler slides and swings to an aerial zip wire for older children.

“The children from Leavesden Green thoroughly tested all of the playground’s equipment and I am delighted to say that it was given a resounding thumbs up.”
