A man from Watford will run his 13th London Marathon for a children's charity which grants wishes to the terminally ill.
John Coleman, a parts adviser for Volvo, will take on the 26.2 mile run for Starlight Children’s Foundation, on April 17.
The charity grants wishes for children with serious and terminal illnesses, and provides entertainment in hospitals and hospices.
Mr Coleman said: “Training is going really well, although I admit it was tough to begin with.
“I have been sticking to my programme pretty carefully and I hope this, and the thought of helping Starlight will be enough to get me round the course.”
There are currently eleven children in Hertfordshire waiting to have their once-in-a-lifetime wishes granted.
