Students from Rickmansworth School lent a hand to a primary school science day today, for the second year in a row.

Children from Chater Infants School in Southsea Avenue, Watford, took part in practical science lessons throughout the day.

The school's 180 children were split into ten groups to investigate floating and sinking, popcorn making, static electricity, finger printing, and the internal workings of the human digestive system.

This is the second year that the school has run a science day, and the second year that students from the Scots Hill school have provided the lessons.

Fatmah Ravji, science co-ordinator, said: “It creates so much more fun, which gets them engaged and investigating science. The students are great at interacting with the children.”

The children were also taken into the playground for a explosive lesson about volcanoes.
