An inflatable replica of a human colon will be on show this week to raise awareness for bowel cancer.

The two metre high walk-through structure will go up in the Spice of Life restaurant at Watford General Hospital, in Vicarage Road.

This month is National Bowel Cancer Awareness Month so West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust are trying to teach the public about the signs and symptons of the disease, which is the third most common cancer in the UK.

Trained staff will be on hand on Thursday, April 7 to talk about the condition and the screening programme the NHS is offering.
