Recent features about Mount Pleasant Lane School prompted memories for Ann Thomas, née Mitchell.
She said: “I now live in Dorset but attended Mount Pleasant Lane School in Bricket Wood during the 1940s and was therefore very interested to read two articles you had written on the school. These pieces had been passed on to me by a friend who had been a contemporary of mine at the school during those years and now lives in Watford.
“I attended the school for four years from 1945, when I was seven, until 1949. During that time Mr Jenkins was headmaster and I was surprised to see no mention of him in either article.
"After 60 years my memories of the school are a little dim, but I do recall collecting the ‘chocolate milk powder’ (Ovaltine?) and well remember Miss Christie as I was in her class for three of my four years there. In the other year I think the teacher was a Mrs Marvin but cannot now be sure.
“Thank you for stirring distant but happy memories.”
