Former Sun Printers worker TA Osborne emailed regarding the history of the famous Watford print firm.
“I would like to thank the Watford Observer for printing the article Stop Press at Sun, dated September 10. Without coverage like this, local residents would not be aware of the printing history Watford holds.
“Having worked for Sun Printers for 47 years, I was very interested in reading about the recently published book, The Way of the Sun.
“I had the pleasure in meeting up with our former managing director, Brian Reynolds, last week to collect my very own copy (one of only 600 printed). It certainly bought back many memories of the past and reminded me of names of people I used to work alongside.
“I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone connected to the printing trade or, indeed, those who wish to learn about local history. I would also like to thank both Brian Reynolds and Peter Greenhill for the hours of research given to compile such an informative book. Without these gentlemen, the history of Sun Printers may have been lost.”
