For 20 years, Pat Walton and members of the Stanborough Park Seventh Day Adventist Church have hosted charity events.
And last Sunday, the latest 'Pat's Sale' raised more than £1,200 for the Peace Hospice.
Among the visitors to the St Albans Road church were Councillor Alan Burtenshaw, chairman of Watford Borough Council, and his wife Ellie, who opened the event and spent time browsing the various stalls.
Councillor Burtenshaw said: “Pat and her many willing helpers have done a tremendous job again and I know the Hospice are extremely grateful for the support they receive.
“It really lifts your spirits to see these events so well attended, despite the rain, and know that the money raised will be of such benefit.
“Can I also say that the sponge cake, part of the refreshments being served, was possibly the finest I’ve had the pleasure to eat.”
