Firefighters from a fire station in Kings Langley have launched a recruitment drive in order to enlarge their dwindling crew numbers.
To apply for the position of retained [part-time] firefighter, applicants must live or work within four minutes of the station in Common Lane.
They must also be over 18 years old and reasonably fit. There is no upper age limit and all members of the community are invited to apply.
Successful candidates will receive regular training, the opportunity for career progression and will also be paid a basic annual retaining wage as well as additional fees for call outs and regular training nights.
John Print, Retained Support Officer for Dacorum and St Albans, said: “Retained firefighters are a pivotal part of the community they serve.
“It’s quite a commitment - most retained firefighters have full-time jobs, but are still able to respond to calls when they are not working.
“In return, you’ll be working as part of team of dedicated professionals and your training will make you real asset to your employer and the community.”
