Crime in Kings Langley has “fallen dramatically” in the past month, but shed thefts and unlocked PVC doors are still proving problematic for police.
At a meeting of the Kings Langley Parish Council yesterday evening, PCSO Lesley Kirkpatrick highlighted there had been only 12 incidents reported this month, in comparison to 21 in August.
PCSO Kirkpatrick said: “Crime has fallen dramatically for this month and we have solved a majority of the incidents reported.
“From the crimes log for September, we are still seeing problems with people not locking their PVC doors properly and shed thefts.
“With the PVC doors - this month's incident, a house was burgled, car keys taken from inside the house and the car removed.
“When the occupant returned to their home, they found the door was wide open – which suggests it was not locked properly.
“Another problem we are seeing time and time again is shed thefts - there have been a spate of them over the past few months.
“There were two instances in this month where tools and equipment have been taken.”
