A long-awaited pedestrian crossing has been installed in Abbots Langley following campaigning by residents and local councillors.
College Road, which links both sides of Leavesden Country Park, is where the new crossing has been installed.
Three Rivers District Councillor Stephen Giles-Medhurst, a Liberal Democrat representative, has led the campaign, along with fellow ward councillors for about four years.
He said: " I am delighted our persistence and perseverance has paid off when some said we would never get it.
“[The crossing] is already well used and also helps slow the traffic down the hill a bit.
“Above all it’s now safer to cross the road with a separate pedestrian entrance into the north side of park.”
