Supporters of a children's charity gathered at a new Watford branch today to see the premises and learn about what the organisation plans to do in the area.
Action for Children recently built a branch in the Watford Business Park and today was a chance for employees to promote the charity's work to supporters from across the country.
A lunch was held in the charity's premises and head of partnership fund raising Gemma Buttimer said it was as much about thanking the visitors as showing them the new building.
She said: “It is important that we have a really visible business and our move to Watford provides that. The way this facility is set up allows us to operate more effectively to benefit children in and around Hertfordshire and the wider area.”
The branch moved to Watford from its former base in Highbury, north London, and currently employs 150 people.
Action for Children works with vulnerable and neglected children and young people who are in care, are disabled, or who experience severe difficulties in their lives, across the UK.
