The life of former golf professional Ronnie Mandeville was celebrated when more than 200 people attended his funeral.
The hearse carrying Mr Mandeville's coffin drove around the flagpole outside West Herts Golf Club before making its way to West Herts Crematorium, where the ceremony was held last Friday, September 24.
Family, friends and golfing colleagues then returned to the Croxley Green-based golf club, where the flag, normally lowered to half mast on occasions such as this, flew high in his honour.
Mr Mandeville, 90, died at Watford General Hospital on Friday, September 17.
And among those to pay tribute to him were former Ryder Cup captain John Jacobs and, in a recorded message, Peter Alliss, the BBC's 'Voice of Golf'.
Stephen Meyer, a member of West Herts who joined in 1979 when Mr Mandeville was the club's professional, said: “He was one hell of a golfer and just so well loved by everyone at West Herts.
“He will be sadly missed. He was a very popular man.”
