"Spectacular" centenary celebrations at a Radlett church have raised enough money for a new altar.
The Roman Catholic Church of St Anthony of Padua, in The Crosspath, raised the cash over the past year and, this weekend, met its target.
The church held several events to celebrate the landmark anniversary including a classical concert, a flower festival and a service that included members of all Christian faiths.
Pauline Hall, 59, of Cragg Avenue, said: “It was really lovely. The orchestra evening was spectacular. It was lovely to sit among the flowers and listen to the music. The church looked beautiful.”
