A group of Bushey residents with learning difficulties are "extremely pleased" having moved in to a new purpose-built housing development.
The 11 tenants, who previously lived in shared flats, in Girtin Road, moved in to their new individual flats last Wednesday.
The new homes are the result of a partnership between Hightown Praetorian & Churches Housing Association, Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) and PCHA, part of Genesis Housing Group.
Emma Crump, of Hightown, said: “Prior to the move, residents lived in shared flats which meant they had little privacy and could not choose who they lived with.
“The residents have been involved throughout the process including choosing their own colour schemes, flooring and kitchens and are extremely pleased with their new homes.”
The Stainton Court development offers residents 24-hour support and the former building, in Girtin Road, will be demolished to make way for more affordable housing.
The flats from part of a larger £25.5 million development, at the Farrington Avenue Site, which will result in 190 homes being built.
Councillor Chris Hayward, a member of HCC, said: “The standards achieved at Stainton Court are first class – at the end of the day providing good housing is all about people.
"It is clear to me that the quality of life the residents of Stainton Court will enjoy is excellent."
