Pupils at an Aldenham school welcomed a group of South African students as part of an international exchange programme.

The exchange saw six boys from the Western Province Prep School, in Cape Town, experience school life at Edge Grove, in Radlett Road, for two weeks.

The South African visitors joined in with classroom and boarding activities, and represented the school in football matches last month.

A return trip for six boys and six girls from the Aldenham school is being arranged in February 2011.

Edge Grove headmaster Mike Davies said: “Many schools offer exchanges with European countries but the South African exchange was a great experience for pupils to visit a country which is so culturally diverse.

“The return trip will be a great opportunity for the pupils to experience school and home life in another country.”
