Watford’s new fire station has been shortlisted for an award.
The building, in Lower High Street, has been nominated for the national ‘wholetime fire station of the year' award after impressive inspection results.
A fire service volunteer who has dedicated the last fifteen years to helping Watford’s fire cadets has been short-listed for another award.
Cadet Instructor Tracy Turner has been put forward for a community award at the Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service HEART (Hertfordshire Excellence Achievement Recognition and Thanks) Awards on Thursday.
Tracy has been involved with the cadets since they started up in 1995 and devotes much of her spare time to helping them out.
