A stray dog described as a “gentle giant” has travelled 300 miles to find a new home.
Roscoe, a rottweiler, was brought into the Somerset branch of the National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT).
But he has now arrived at the charity's Watford branch, in Tylers Way off the A41, where he will be looked after by its specialist rottweiler handler, Tanya Mazzoni, until he is rehomed.
The dog is nervous around new people but would be suited to an owner who is willing to spend time with him to build up trust before moving to a new home.
Tanya said: “Roscoe has a cheeky character which I adore and his new owner will have a best friend for life.”
Roscoe is a two year old and needs to be homed with an experienced large breed owner.
He is described a gentle giant and extremely intelligent so needs to be kept busy mentally and physically.
