Shoppers were evacuated from a busy shop this afternoon when a suspected fire was reported.
Boots, in The Harlequin, was evacuated at about 3.45, when smoke was seen coming through a ceiling.
Firefighters from Watford and Garston used thermal imaging equipment to check for the source of the smoke but concluded that it had been caused by building works to the roof above.
Customers returned to the shop after 20 minutes.
