Children from a Watford primary school have produced works of art that will be displayed inside a new housing development.
More than 30 pupils from Laurance Haines Primary School, in Vicarage Road, visited Origin Housing's The Wrap, the new apartment blocks built around Vicarage Road Stadium, where their paintings will be hung in the corridors.
The children were asked to produce artwork with the theme 'Footballers' houses from around the world', finding inspiration in the Egyptian pyramids and Australian cork hats.
And last week Mayor Dorothy Thornhill was invited to visit the development, a mixture of one and two bedroom flats, where she cast her eye over the pupils' work.
She said: “The art works look great, and it’s lovely to see a local school and a housing provider working together.”
Janni Phipps, head of Sales and Marketing for Origin Housing, added: “I am delighted that the children have really thrown themselves into this project, and there are certainly some budding Picasso's at Laurance Haines. The paintings have really brightened up the corridors, and our new residents love them.”
