A bowls club in Bushey will have a new honours board thanks to money pledged by Hertsmere Borough Council.
Mayor Linda Silver, Hertsmere Councillor and Conservative representative, promised £250 to Bushey Bowling Club from the council’s Ward Improvement Initiative Scheme (WIIS).
Local people and groups can make a bid for cash to improve the area they live in by using WIIS, which allows each Hertsmere councillor to spend up to £2,000 to support projects and schemes.
The club will be able to pay for a new honours board for players and associated sign writing.
Janet Sellek, club president and ladies secretary, said: "Bushey Bowling Club appreciates the help from Hertsmere Borough Council - in a time when money is short every little helps.
“We very much enjoy our annual fixture with the councillors and hope it continues for many years after our centenary year in 2012."
