Hornets goalkeeper Scott Loach took time out from training to visit children at Watford Mencap's after school club.
The charity group provides children with learning disabilities three hours of play and care on weekday evenings, while also providing their parents with much-needed respite.
And Scott chatted with children last Thursday during his hour-long visit to the centre, based at the Lemarie Centre in St Albans Road, which must raise more than £200,000 a year to keep running.
Scott, an England international, said: “It genuinely brightened my day to spend some time out with the guys. While we’re busy thinking about football all the time, it’s nice to switch off and appreciate the work that goes on in the community around us.”
