The building of a new social housing estate could be approved by councillors tomorrow evening.

Watford Borough Council’s development control committee will rule on an application to build 16 houses in Callowland Place, Watford.

If approved the three and two bedroom houses will be rented to tenants on the council’s social housing waiting list.

Neighbouring residents have raised a number of objections to the scheme, arguing that its 16 car parking spaces are insufficient and bemoaning their loss of privacy and security.

Committee members, however, have been advised to approve the scheme by expert planning officers.
