A housing development in Maple Cross which was refused planning permission, has also been turned down at appeal.
Clovercourt Homes Ltd appealed against Three Rivers District Council after it refused planning permission in October last year.
The scheme involved the removal of 81 and 81A Hornhill Road, to build 14 new homes with garages, parking and access.
However, inspector John Felgate dismissed the appeal because of the development’s effects on the character, appearance and neighbours living in the area, and questioned whether adequate provision had been made for rubbish collection.
