A housing complex for the elderly in Chorleywood has received a £500 grant to improve its kitchen facilities.
Conservative councillor Chris Hayward gave the money to Hustleigh Homes, which manages 20 warden-controlled flats in Shire Lane, from his locality budget.
Joy King, administrator to the trustees, said: "When the new items are in place in the kitchen, we are planning to cook for the residents on an occasional basis to celebrate special events."
Locality budgets allow councillors to pay for worthy social, economic or environmental causes in Hertfordshire.
